My Breaking Point

I have been meaning to write for a while. I have planned posts, but never got around to actually writing them. I had planned to write a post about coupons. I have become a bit of a coupon nut. I had planned to write about my first bike ride since I was twelve, and how sore and out of shape I have apparently become. I had planned to write about how my sweet, innocent two year old is now throwing tantrums about everything, including that Mommy isn't holding the sippy cup exactly right! I had planned to write how suddenly my toddler refuses to sleep, especially in her own bed. And about my hours of research and theories, just incase there are any other parents out there who are experiencing a similar situation. However, after about three hours of sleep (since that is all my sweet and innocent toddler thinks she needs these days), realizing that I am way behind at work and I just CANNOT catch up, and just finding out the me and my hubby will each be loosing part of our life insurance,...

Why I Am a Bad Mommy

I am a bad mommy because... ....I let my daughter eat M&M's before dinner because she was good at the store. ....I've told my toddler that something was her's so she would quit saying "mine" when in reality it was mine...or her brothers...or some other childs...or etc. ....I have answered yes to a question when I was not paying attention and have no idea what I answered yes to. I am really hoping I haven't promised to buy my step son a motorcycle when he turns 14. ....I have let my daughter fall asleep and stay on the couch with me because I did not want to miss any of NCIS Los Angeles. ....I sneak snack food behind my kids back...constantly. Yep folks, I am a bad mommy. If you have ever thought about telling your son that the boogey man lives under your bed to keep him from snooping for Christmas presents, you just might be a bad mommy (or brilliant) too!

Christmas Traditions

Yes, I know this post is three weeks late, but... Christmas is a time for tradition. Growing up our tradition included me waking up the WHOLE house on Christmas morning to see what Santa brought and “Last gift of the night” where we had one last gift Christmas night when we went to bed. This year I decided I wanted to start my own family tradition for Christmas. The Husband and I decided our Christmas tradition would be to give each of the kids something that WE had to put work into, not just buy at the store. Of course we decided this in December so we had to scramble. For my daughter, I gave her all the stuff to make a cute scrap book/picture album that is all her own. She is about to turn two and loves pictures, but frequently gets in trouble for trying to handle mine. I gave her all the stuff, but we still haven’t actually made it yet. But we will…as soon as I get pictures developed!!! (uploading now) For big man, he got his Daddy’s hunting rifle (No I have no idea what kind it is...

Merry Christmas

Well it is definately Christmas time at our house and I have the low bank balance to prove it! I will be the first one to admit that we probably went overboard on the kids this year, spending more this year than we did last year and the year before. While it seems most people overspend due to competition (which admittedly played a small part in mine as well), I also had another driving force. THIS APPEARS TO BE THE LAST YEAR MY STEP SON WILL BELEIVE IN SANTA!!! The revelation came about slowly, when he wouldn't write Santa a letter but wrote out his Christmas list for us. He also chose to not go on the Santa excursion train ride that his grandmother offered to take him on. Finally he refused to even go see Santa at the mall. Finally, when I picked him up last Friday, he told me that Santa didn't bring him stuff, I bought it. I panicked! This was a discussion he should have with this Dad, or his Mom...not ME! I quickly told him that I only bought the stuff under the tree, and t...

Baby Book Bing

I remember picking out that special perfect book for my baby and promising to write religiously in it. I had heard other stories of mom's who never finished the baby book, but that was always with their second child...this was MY FIRST..and at times had never thought I would even have her. I would write. Then, last night I had an epiphany...I had not written in my daughters baby book in well over six months. Wow...so much had happened in the 15-21 month stage. So in the last six months what have I missed writing? A couple of teeth, graduating to a toddler bed, her first hair cut (given by daddy), and last night...her first somersault! I've thought about making an online album, at least then I wouldn't have to actually get pictures developed, but I also couldn't attach those sweet little keepsakes...like a clipping of her hair from her first hair cut. Who am I kidding, I wouldn't have the time for an online baby book either..Unless...UNLESS...IT UPDATED STRAIGHT FROM...

Keeping Up

I have been a bad bad blogger. I haven't written in well over a week now and therefor do not know which cute story to share. I could share Zachary's wisdom of the difference between a girlfriend and a girl friend.... Or his wisdom of "thin as a peice of glass"... Or how proud he was after he changed his first tire. I could share the story as I sat nervously watching Shiloh suck on her first peice of hard candy.... Or how cute it was when I asked her to pick out a toy to take and she instead started puting all of her toys back in the toy box. I could share stories of how to heal a doll from my three year old neice... Or the fact that she would rather dance with someone watching. There have been so many good times these past couple of weeks, looking back I realize how blessed I have been. I think sometimes we focus on the negative, on everything that goes wrong in life...and we try to learn from it. This week I am choosing to do the opposit. I am focusing on the good ...

I want this stuff out of my house!

Me and Jeremy have spent the last few weeks cleaning out the kids rooms to make room for the inevitable Christmas toy mountain. We do not want anything for these items, except to get them out of our house. If you or someone you know could use them, please let me know and I will try and arrange to get it to you or for you to pick up. Here are the items I can remember: *Playpen (neutral colors)-it is a playpen only but is in good condition, would be excellent at a grandparents house so you do not have to haul yours back and forth. *Size 4 infant brown suede Mary Jane type shoes (brand new) *Baby Einstein DVDs and a Fisher Price DVD that is basically the same thing *a dog toy that you pull behind you and it barks *a "tv" that you wind up and it plays music and pictures scroll by *Stuffed animals and baby dolls. *Twister (the game) *Tinker Toys *Marvel matching game *Pirates of the Carribean bath paints (never opened) *Pirates of the Carribean poster size coloring book (only on...
