Keeping Up

I have been a bad bad blogger. I haven't written in well over a week now and therefor do not know which cute story to share.
I could share Zachary's wisdom of the difference between a girlfriend and a girl friend....
Or his wisdom of "thin as a peice of glass"...
Or how proud he was after he changed his first tire.
I could share the story as I sat nervously watching Shiloh suck on her first peice of hard candy....
Or how cute it was when I asked her to pick out a toy to take and she instead started puting all of her toys back in the toy box.
I could share stories of how to heal a doll from my three year old neice...
Or the fact that she would rather dance with someone watching.

There have been so many good times these past couple of weeks, looking back I realize how blessed I have been. I think sometimes we focus on the negative, on everything that goes wrong in life...and we try to learn from it. This week I am choosing to do the opposit. I am focusing on the good timesk, and picking my lessons from those times of laughter. So this is what I have learned from the kids in my life this week:

-Dont read too much into what someone says, there could be another meaning.
-Perspective and Experience changes everything.
-The hard work is worth a worthwhile accomplishment.
-You will never know if you can unless you try.
-Risks are worth taking.
-Picking up isn't all that bad, and sometimes even better than the alternative.
-What matters most, is what you beleive.
-Why would you dance when no one is watching...its much more fun to be silly with someone.

I am going to be all smiles today. =)

How do you wear high heels, everyday?

I'm a pretty low maintenance girl.  I am happy in my flip flops, jeans and tennis shoes.  However, sometimes that girly side of me kicks in and I want to wear a cute pair of shoes.  Many times, this cute pair of shoes involve high heels. After wearing the cute shoes for a few hours, I'm left wondering ladies...HOW DO YOU WEAR HIGH HEELS ALMOST EVERY DAY? Seriously. I got a new pair of boots for Christmas with a modest heel.  They fit perfect and are super cute.  I wore them to work for the first time the other day and came home with huge blisters on the ball of my feet.  Now I don't have a job that requires a lot of standing and walking. I walk from my car to the office. From my desk to the break room or bathroom and back (2 or 3 times per day) and then back to my car at the end of the day.  And yet, by the time I was hobbling (yes it hurt so bad I was actually hobbling). Yáll is was below freezing outside and I was actually contemplating taki...

Another Frugal Friday

It has been a while since my last frugal Friday. We survived summer and found out just how much carpooling could save us! We used the saved money to take the kids to the Knoxville Zoo, Space and Air Museum and The Adventure Science Center. We actually bought a family pass for $90 to the Adventure Science Center so we can take the kids back during the fall, winter and spring. They change exhibits often and truthfully, their “Adventure Tower” is better than any indoor play ground I’ve seen, so it is a good investment in our world. I have also jumped on the “a deal a day” bandwagon. Most people have head about Groupon , where every day they have a deal for a local business. It is usually about 50% off, for food, drinks or service. It seems that *most* of their deals seem to be for food/drinks and salon services, but earlier this year they did have a family membership to the Adventure Science Center for $45 (and yes, I missed it.) Today’s deal is 3 Laser Hair-Removal Treatments for $...
