Frugal Friday-Fast Food

Our Friday night's are very busy, so we've decided to stop cooking on Friday nights and eat out.  However, we still need to do so on a budget.  I've worked $20 into our weekly budget for Friday nights.  If you have eaten out lately, you know feeding a family of 4 on $20 isn't always easy, especially when you don't want to eat the same thing every week.  Below are some of our favorite places to eat and an idea of how we make it work.

Note: Most of the time, we get the food and bring it home. This way we can use the drinks we already have at home!

Little Ceasars: $5 pizza's.  Need I say more

Papa John's: They regularly run deals with $11 large pizzas.  If you sign up for the rewards program and order online, you'll end up eventually earning a free pizza.  Watch out for codes to get more points.  I've earned and redeemed SEVERAL free pizzas!

McDonalds: They recently re-did the value menu and our regular orders are no longer just a $1.  However, you can still easily score 4 hamburger or chicken sandwiches, fries (we generally get 2 large fries and split them), and 4 large drinks for under $20.  This is the only place we get drinks, every time.

Krystals: The sackfull combos are actually a very good deal!

Subway: Subway runs deals on footlongs during various months.  For January, all footlongs were $5.  We recently got 3 footlongs and 3 chips to share for $20.  That was actually supper and lunch!

Taco bell- If you just get Taco's you can get plenty to feed a family of 4.

What are your favorite fast food places to eat at on a budget?

Mommy Kisses

WARNING: YOU MAY NOT WANT TO READ THIS POST WHILE EATING... My daughter has been sick since Thursday, running a high fever. Luckily its just an ear infection and not the flu. However early Sunday morning (and I stress Early, well before 8AM) my dogs started barking and woke Shiloh up. Since I was not ready to get up, and she didn't look like she was ready to face the world either, I took her into my room and laid back down with her. I was in a light doze, and she seemed to go in and out of dozing with some wiggling in between. After one wiggling bout, she started whining and I opened my eyes just wide enough to see her holding her hand in the air. Now at 19 months old, we are heavily following the "I hurt it, so mommy kisses it and its all better" philosophy. I naturally assumed the hand or finger had been pinched, rolled on, or otherwise "hurt" and needed a mommy kiss so we could both go back to sleep. I kissed it, and that is when I realized...THERE WAS ...

I am a working mom

It is no secret if you know me at all, I am a working mom.  I work full time. I leave my house at 6AM and barely make it home by 6PM, Monday through Friday.  And then I work overtime some nights and weekends...like today.  I am spending my Sunday working overtime.  And then I also do photography on the side to make extra money. And I am active in my church's childrens ministry.  It gets to be alot.  Our lives are very hectic and sometimes I wonder if it's worth it. Are my priorities right? I believe my work is important.  I believe my work is necessary for my families survival.  Sometimes my work is needed for my sanity.  Even with a crazy work enviorment, sometimes it is mental break I need to function at home. However, as my children get older, the more I realize that I am missing thier lives.  I've daydreamed about becoming a stay at home mom, but let me tell you, the numbers don't work.  Even if we gave up all the ammenities...
